U.S. V Corps
In the summer of 1944, the U.S. V Corps was under the command of the US First Army. V Corps was comprised of 1st Infantry Division and 29th Infantry Division that landed at Omaha Beach on D-Day 6 June 1944. Major General Leonard Gerow was in command of the V Corps July-September 1944 and October 1944-January 1945. They were commanded by MG Edward Brooks from 18 September to 4 October 1944 and MG Clarence Huebner 15 January to 11 November 1945.
